Staff Biographies
Stephanie Poumade started working with young people when she was in early high school. She has always had a passion for wanting to help others. Stephanie is a certified Speech Language Pathologist and licensed Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. During the school year, Stephanie is a Special Education Department Chair in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). She has been with FCPS for 8 years. On the side of her full-time job, Stephanie started this private practice so that she could see private clients for Speech Language Therapy. Stephanie is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and enjoys sharing her love of ASL with others of all ages. Nathan Poumade started working with young people when he was in high school. It is his passion to work with young people to help them learn to better their lives. Nathan holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degrees from George Mason University in Physical Education and Education, respectively. He is a licensed Health & Physical Education Teacher at a middle school in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS); he has been working with FCPS for a decade. As a public school employee, Nathan holds a Child Abuse and Recognition Intervention (CARI) Certificate. On the side of his full-time job, Nathan coaches high school basketball in Loudoun County Public Schools. Nathan is trained to work with typically developing students as well as special needs students with a variety of different disabilities and physical needs. He has extensive experience differentiating tasks to be appropriate for all levels of student needs and ages. He feels strongly that every student is able to challenge him/herself within his/her ability. Nathan loves to share his passion for physical activity and motor coordination development with his students.
Outside of work, Stephanie and Nathan enjoy spending time with their three-year-old inquisitive and energetic son.
Jeff Petrillo is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech in the Industrial & Systems Engineering Program. Jeff is a sports enthusiast, and has played baseball, soccer and lacrosse. His lacrosse career lasted through 3 years of college. He also participated in intramural hockey, and enjoys hiking, photography, and woodworking as hobbies. Jeff has a long history of lifeguarding during the summer months at single-guard pools; single-handedly managing the children and adult clientele (safety, first aid, etc) as well as the demands of pool upkeep. Additionally, coming from a large family, Jeff has had a lot of opportunity to connect with children of all ages and foster interaction skills.
